Guitarist and composer Kenny Reichert celebrates the release of Colours, his new album on Calligram Records, with a quintet featuring Russ Johnson on trumpet, Geof Bradfield on tenor saxophone and bass clarinet, Clark Sommers on bass, and Devin Drobka on drums. Built around Reichert’s original compositions, Colours brings together melodic writing, open improvisation, and the distinct personalities of five musicians who have been central to Chicago’s creative jazz scene.
