Gabriel Wade is an award-winning jazz trumpeter, pianist, and music educator who currently serves as the Jazz Trumpet Professor at the Mead Witter School of Music at UW–Madison. Originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, Wade has quickly become a prominent figure in the Midwest jazz scene, known both for his brilliant technical artistry and his leadership of the Gabriel Wade Quintet. Wade earned his Master of Music in Jazz Studies from Northern Illinois University in 2024. He has amassed several prestigious national accolades early in his career:1st Place Winner in the 2024 Tom Williams Jazz Division of the National Trumpet Competition.3rd Place Winner in the 2026 Ryan Anthony Memorial Trumpet Competition at the International Trumpet Guild's 50th Anniversary Conference.Alumnus of the elite 2024 Jazz Aspen Snowmass Academy Big Band, directed by Christian McBride.Wade has shared the stage with artists such as the Count Basie Orchestra. He released his debut live album, Gabriel Wade Quintet – Live at the Jazz Showcase Vol. 1, on August 6, 2026, featuring his ensemble and original compositions like "High Altitude" and "April 15th".
